I want to writea fantasy and virtual novel because I especially like to read fantasy books andmy favorite fantasy books are The Lord of the Ring series. I think I read itback in high school and it was one of the most gripping, interesting,fascinating stories I've ever read. I know it's fiction and it's an imaginedworld but I think at that time that book was really meaningful to me because itgave me kind of an escape and I could be busy with this book for weeks andweeks on end.

Just at thattime I want to write a book like The Lord of The Ring. I mean, I want to writean imaginative book telling people about possibilities of how life could be orimaginative lives of people. I know it is quite difficult but I have alreadystarted to write. I described the stories of adventure and fun, how thecharacters make friends and go through hardships together. I hope one day Icould finish my novel and somebody would like it.

I read everyday.I have the habit of reading newspaper or a part of the book in the first hourof my day. By taking these actions, I'm refreshed and productive.

Yes, I thinkChinese people like reading, but we do not always read books through a printedform. We read through electronic form more.

No, people wouldlike to choose the reading materials fit their levels. Otherwise they may findit too difficult or boring. For example, when I was 10 years old, I opened abook in statistics field and I could not understand what it said at all.

4.   What do Chinese people like toread?

Well, itdepends. I think it’s just their personal preferences. Some like to read novelswith wonderful plots and characters, others like to read academic materials,still others concern on books about health and life.

5.   What kinds of materials do youthink people should read?

In my view, theutmost significance should be attached to reading the classics and academicmaterials. With the advent of TV, mobile phones and the Internet, people tendto acquire something more about entertainment, which is not helpful to developour critical thinking. Therefore, I think we should do more deep-reading.

6.   What benefits do young peopleget from reading?

I believe thegreatest benefit is that reading extensively can offer us a wide range ofexperiences. In reading we can experience the bitterness or joy of people indifferent lands and in different times. Few of us can travel all over the worldand live long over one hundred, but all of us can live many lives through thepages of books.

7.   Have you read another book bythe same author?

Yes, after Ifinished reading A Midsummer Night's Dream, I found it so entertaining that Ibought another 2 books from the same author, Shakespeare. They were Romeo andJuliet and King Lear.

8.   What kind of books are popularin your country?

Kungfu novelsare very popular, in China. They are just like the Chinese version ofsuperhero. People are obsessed with them because they can take people to awhole different and exciting world.

9.   What kind of books does womenlike to read? What about man? Why?

Generallyspeaking, women like to read books of romance while men tend to read books ofacademy. Romance books can get swept off women’ s feet so that it may fulfilltheir impossible dreams. And what men can learn in the academic book can beapplied to practice.

10.  Do you thinkit`s necessary to read novel before watch the same movie? Why?

I think it isunnecessary to read the novel before watch the same movie because the plots andthe whole story are similar. However, if you want to know more about thebackground before watching, you’d better read the novel in advance.

11.  Sometimes peopleremake novel into movie but viewers are not satisfied about that, do you agreewith that? And why people do that?

I agree withthat. As every reader has their own feeling and understanding of the samenovel, they usually have different expectations of the rearranged movie. And ifthe movie fails to meet expectations of some viewers, there will be negativecomments.
