内容回忆:名人(celebrities)要不要做一个好的示范?

参考答案:I believe celebrities should be a good role model. Many celebrities are really good role models, and some are actually trying to make a big difference. Many of them help and support charities and even convincing others to do good things. A large number of people get inspired by celebrities. I think it’s really good for other people, especially teenagers, to do the same thing. Almost every celebrity faces hardships in their path to success. However,  they face all these shortcomings and continue to work in their field with determination. Kids can learn this never give up attitude from celebrities and implement the same for their studies.

内容回忆:Some people think that if students did not do well in secondary school, they should not attend college; other people think that everyone should have the right to attend college. Which do you agree with? Explain why.

参考答案:Personally speaking, I believe only those students who finish secondary school could be qualified for college. That’s because it is actually good for students. College life is always pretty hectic. Students have to spend at least 10 hours a day at school attending classes, preparing for exams, doing assignments and stuff like that. So, if students cannot even do well in secondary school, they might not be able to adapt to campus life very well, which means they may not pass the exams. What worse, they might have trouble to graduate successfully, which is definitely a bad thing.

内容回忆:To be successful in sports, which is more important, talent or hard work?

参考答案:Although talent and hard work are both important for anyone to achieve any kind of success, I believe hard work is the deciding factor when talent is present. For example, I have two high school friends, Jack and Peter, who were both into basketball. They were both pretty good at it, but Jack was very humble and always trying to get better, while Peter said it was good enough to help him get girls. Jack practiced every day without rest, saying that Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant worked so hard to get where they were, and he made it to the school team and got a sports scholarship in a good university. Peter was pretty mediocre upon graduation, and gave it up. It is very common that people give up their dreams because they don't want to work hard enough, and it's a shame.

内容回忆:在团队里的孩子更可能在学术上成功?

参考答案:Based on my own experience and understanding of many of today’s group activities that children have access to, I strongly believe in the power of group activities in children’s academic development. Because the experience of group activities can benefit children in more than one way. To say the least, they learn how to cooperate and how to play their unique role in a team. For example, I used to be a member of the basketball team and a member of the debate team in high school, and although these 2 things seem irrelevant, the experience of them helped me latter became a valuable member in the lab for my biology professor in university. I cannot even explain the details, but at least I became more fluent in expressing my ideas.

内容回忆:机器能不能取代人?

参考答案:I don ' t think that robots can really replace humans. Firstly, robots are machines who do not share human feelings. Although they can do systematic jobs as they are programmed, they will not understand our feelings and won 't fulfill our emotional needs. For example, teachers play an integral part in our lives and they teach us to become better people both academically and socially. Robots do not have a human life and don ' t have personalities and won 't be able to analyze our mistakes. Robots can"t be teachers. Secondly, musicians and artists contribute tremendously to the rich cultural foundation of our generation, but robots will not be able to create mindblowing works like Van Gogh did, nor can they compose Ode to Joy like Beethoven did. These are human skills that cannot be copied and programmed.

内容回忆:Do you agree or disagree with the statement:All animals should be respected and protected as humans are treated.

参考答案:Animals should be treated with the same respect as a human being.

Animals need to have the same right as humans because animals have multiple feelings just like humans. Animals and human are alike in many different ways. Animals can cry, they can use the bathroom, animals can walk, they can talk, they can eat, animals can do a lot of things like humans. Furthermore, animals are born into this world without question every day. They may not be as intelligent, but they are smart in their own way, and they are always caring and unconditionally loving to humans regardless of their actions.

内容回忆:When giving feed backs to students, some teachers would like to talk to their students in person, while other teachers would give written comments to students. Which do you prefer and why?

参考答案:I would say it is better to provide face to face feedback to students. First off, when talking face to face, students can see professor’s body language and facial expression, which are very important to convey emotions. Students can understand their professors’ comments more clearly and intuitively. However, there is no emotional elements if professors give written comments. Students might not even read the professors’ comments in a timely manner. Thus, they will have no clue how well they did on the project.

内容回忆:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: It's difficult for people today to save money than their grandparents when they were young?

参考答案:Nowadays it’s hard for people to save money and I think that’s because of the widespread use of the Internet and online shopping has become more and more convenient. As a result, people would spend a lot of time staying at home and going shopping on the Internet. So they can just stay at home and choose the staff they want to buy from different online stores. And after they pay the money on the Internet, they can just wait for the package at home. So I think the simple solution is to go outside and play with their friends instead of staying at home and buying things.

内容回忆:如果学生在之前的考试中成绩不好,他们就应该被安排更多的作业以弥补自己的分数

If some students have not received enough credits because they failed previous exams, they should be given an additional assignment by their professors to make up credits.

参考答案:Sample answer:

Although I had some hesitations at first sight of this statement, I now believe that it isn’t a bad idea. Because every student is going to be good at some subjects and not that great at some others. Doing additional assignments instead of taking and failing the exams over and over again is necessary for those who really struggle with one or two subjects. Like, I really had a hard time passing the chemistry exam in the first year of my high school, and it truly was frustrating at a point. It would have been much better with a policy like this. So, I agree with it now.

内容回忆:家长该不该让学生用电子设备

参考答案:As far as I am concerned, I totally agree with the idea that electronic devices should not be allowed for students to use. Advertisements on TV are shown how portable they are and it is much more conducive to scholarly reading in our daily life. Apparently, what they want to do is to attract potential clientele and make further profits as soon as possible. Most of students can be encouraged to make purchase on electronic devices. But students who made purchase won’t be aware of something is gonna happen in the near future. Their study will be adversely affected by electronic devices and they’ll get used to relaxation. Time is in finitude.

内容回忆:是否应该鼓励学生们上课讨论?

参考答案:I strongly agree with this statement.

First, class discussions increase students' interests and engagement – lectures mixed with discussions can help maintain students' focus. As they discuss their answers, they get different perspectives on the topic. Good questions and answers can get students to think deeply and make connections

Also, participating in class discussion can be used to develop important speaking skills. In many professional contexts, people need to be able to speak up in a group. They may need to offer information, ask questions, or argue for a different solution. And it’s one of those skills that develops better with feedback.

内容回忆:Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Instead of requiring (elementary school) students to do experiments themselves, schools should only allow them to watch experiments demonstrated by their teachers.

参考答案:In my opinion, elementary school students should only be allowed to watch experiments demonstrated by the teachers. This is because elementary school students are mostly at the age of 7 to 12. They are too young to handle those various and complicated experimental tools. Also, it can be really dangerous for such young students to do experiments. They are likely to break some tools or instruments, and may even get hurt by the glass or chemicals. Therefore, I think they should only watch instead of doing themselves.

内容回忆:Which one to choose, math club or skiing club?

参考答案:Academic clubs, especially math clubs, have already got enough attention. It is time for other clubs to shine. Even if the skiing club can't be a selling point to attract more prospective students, it doesn't mean those students' voice should be silenced and their needs should be ignored. In addition, skiing is such an exciting sport that many students are dying to give it a try. It helps students get close to the nature. Also, skiing clubs need money to function. Club members will need money to rent a decent place for training,to hire a coach or to make other arrangements. They desperately need all the help they can get.

内容回忆:Your university is planning to film all large lecture classes and put them on the university website. Do you agree or disagree with this plan and why?

参考答案:As for me, I think is definitely a great idea for my university to put all the large lecture classes online and allow students and the general public to watch these videos whenever they want, because that's the point of spreading ideas and knowledge, and that's why we need universities in this society. and I think, for students, the big benefit is that they can re-watch the lectures, which contains knowledge or points they didn't really understand during that lecture. and for me, that would definitely be chemistry lectures. I really had a hard time learning chemistry, and that's why I think it’s a great idea.
